So, I will admit sometimes I like to procrastinate. Especially on Sundays. The week catches up to me and I just flop onto that couch and start flipping channels. Often I realize I'm not really watching the TV I'm just staring at it and day dreaming!
Anyways, a couple Sunday's ago while I was trying to muster the strength to get back to studying I flipped to a movie on TV and I HAD to watch it. It was John Q! I know that I'm way behind the times, as this movie came out in 2002, but I was intrigued. I didn't catch the beginning, but read a couple reviews to get the gist of it.
John's HMO does not allow for a transplant and he isn't able to qualify for Medicade. I'm not familiar with Health Insurance (quiz me on retirement any day though), but shouldn't ALL healthcare plans cover transplants? I understand the pre-existing clauses they have? But don't most insurance companies cover transplants? Does anyone have insight on this?
I had many emotions while watching this move. I went from outraged, to terrified, to sad, to angry, to joyful. And yes, Steve, I did cry! :)
If you haven't watched the movie, I highly recommend it. I would hope a parent wouldn't have to take such drastic measures though!
