On Saturday, the most beautiful float in the Rose Parade will carry a few thousand roses dedicated to people and families who have given the gift of life, or who have been touched by the gift of life… Here are three of those dedications:
One of Chloe’s traits was creating new words to describe things, or maybe embellishing upon existing words a bit… Our Melissa keeps Chloe’s heart – both literally and figuratively – and will carry on that trait with new and improved words…
In memory of Chloe K. Coleman. Our Loverly hero who saved so many lives. Together with your parents and friends we keep your memory alive because you are Spectactical and never far from our hearts. Love Melissa & Dave
It’s been almost 11 years since I’ve received Kari’s beautiful lungs… Breathing like I do now blows my freaking mind every single day. And her gift to me involved so much more than her lungs – I’m surrounded by her friends – and her smile…
In memory of Kari Westberg. 10 years ago you gave me this gift I breathe with - and many more gifts along with it; your family, friends, an amazing life. I never knew you, but I miss you, and I think of you always. Love, Steve
A little man from Iowa named Beckham is alive because of a little man from New York named Jake. Jake’s beautiful heart thumps in Beckham’s young chest… A few months ago, I posted about Jake & Beckham… Jake also has a floragraph on the float this year! The picture above is Jake’s brother, Ben, waiting to place Jake’s rose on the float…
In memory of Jacob Rian Campbell. Jake's star shined briefly but brilliantly. After two and a half months of smiles, he went on to give sight to two individuals, and his heart to a 2 week old baby boy. His love continues to grow.
You can see all of the other Rose Dedications in the Family Circle Garden on the Donate Life Float right here…
Watch the Rose Parade on Saturday morning while you bring in the New Year… Check out the Donate Life Float – Seize the Day! Think about all it represents – fly a kite later this year (when it’s warmer!) And if you haven’t already – register to be an organ donor – think of Chloe, Kari and Jake, and think about being someone’s hero…
